ESSAY PROPOSAL
TEXT 1
Brazilian anthropologist Gilberto Velho clarifies: “The notion of another emphasizes that difference constitutes social life, as it becomes effective through social dynamics. Therefore, difference is both the basis of social life and a permanent source of tension and conflict. ” To put it in a simple way, Gilberto Velho shows how the interaction between the inner and the inner parts of the individual, as well as the other, forms the core of social life. By interacting, individuals reaffirm what is part of themselves and what is part of the external world.
This differentiation process is also part of the subject's identity construction, which is shaped from the distinction between "what I am" and "what I am not". This point brings us to the fundamental problem of the question: the impossibility of the individual self existence without the conflict with the different, the strange, the other.
The idea of otherness is discussed by some different disciplines. Psychology, philosophy and anthropology are the main ones. In spite of the difference of their approaches, the conflict between the inner world and the outer world is always in question.

An author, usually, gives voice to his characters from his own. The brothers’ Karamazov plurality of voices, definitely, distinguished Dostoevsky by placing him at the gallery of the great geniuses of world literature; He was the father of otherness concept as we know it today. TEXT 3
Technological development has been causing transformations as profound in contemporary society as those experienced during the Renaissance. But if in the Renaissance period the transition trigger was humanism, responsible for changing man's relationship with the natural world, it is technology – converted into a new totem – that now occupies the central place previously reserved for nature besides creating new parameters to define the human being.
